Apple device diagnostics
Free diagnostics for standard cases. Paid for liquid damage, complex cases and post-service checks. The paid amount is deducted from the repair cost if you proceed.
Free diagnostics
For most requests diagnostics is completely free and takes 15–30 minutes. A technician will inspect the device, check all basic functions, test the battery and charging, and give you an honest repair cost estimate. No attempt to upsell – if the repair doesn't make economic sense, we will tell you straight.
- Visual inspection of case, screen, connectors
- Basic function check: Face ID / Touch ID, cameras, speaker, microphone, buttons
- Battery test (capacity, voltage stability)
- Charging, connector, wireless charging check
- Standard modular repair cost estimate
- Honest recommendation: repair makes sense, or a new device is better value
Paid diagnostics
In some cases diagnostics requires full device disassembly, significant engineer time and specialized equipment. This is a labor-intensive process that can take 1 to 3 hours. There is a risk of discovering additional damage the client wasn't aware of. We never hide this and always warn you in advance – transparency matters more than profit.
- After liquid contact
Requires disassembly, drying, module corrosion inspection. A labor-intensive process – at least an hour of engineer time.
- After repair elsewhere
To understand what was done we need to open the device. Sometimes it reveals non-obvious issues, sometimes broken connections.
- Suspected logic board issues
If the issue is complex and might involve the logic board, we diagnose honestly – but we don't do board work ourselves, we refer to a trusted partner.
- Complex cases
When several issues overlap and we need to figure out which repair makes sense and which doesn't.
If you agree to the repair after diagnostics, the diagnostics cost is deducted from the repair total. You pay once – for the work.

Why diagnostics sometimes costs money
We explain openly: it's not about "charging money", it's the economics of responsible work.
Engineer time
Disassembling an iPhone or MacBook, carefully inspecting every module and connection, takes at least an hour. The engineer uses professional diagnostic equipment, checks each component and documents the device condition. This is skilled, focused work that requires experience and concentration.
Risk of finding hidden issues
After liquid contact or a repair done elsewhere, we may discover significantly more damage than initially apparent, making the repair economically unjustified. By that point the engineer's work is already done – time and resources are spent regardless of the diagnostic outcome.
Consumables
Every disassembly requires consumable materials: specialized adhesive for resealing, isopropyl alcohol for contact cleaning, moisture indicator stickers, anti-static wipes and protective films. These materials are used up during every diagnostic session and are part of the cost of doing the work properly.
Honesty matters more
The alternative to paid diagnostics is offering them as "kind of free" and then pushing the client into a repair at any cost to recoup the time spent. We refuse to work that way. We would rather name the diagnostic fee honestly than manipulate a client into an unnecessary repair.
