Cookie Policy
Balkan HUB does not track users or sell data to ad networks. This page describes our minimal use of cookies on balkanhub.rs and explains what we use and why.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They help the site remember preferences (like your chosen language) or function technically.
Cookies cannot run programs on your device and are not inherently dangerous. The risk comes when they are used to track users across different websites.
Our approach
We have deliberately chosen a privacy-first approach: no advertising trackers, no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no retargeting cookies.
To understand traffic we use cookieless analytics (Plausible or Umami) which only shows aggregated statistics without identifying visitors.
We do not build user profiles, we do not sell data to third parties, and we do not pass anything to advertising networks.
Technically necessary cookies
The site may set a minimal set of essential cookies required for it to function:
• Cloudflare – our CDN and bot protection. May set `__cf_bm` or `cf_clearance` to filter automated traffic. Lifetime ranges from 30 minutes to 30 days.
• Next.js – the framework the site runs on may use internal cookies for correct page rendering (such as `__next_*`). These cookies do not contain personal data.
Technically necessary cookies cannot be disabled without losing site functionality. EU and Serbian law do not require consent for such cookies.
Third-party services
We try to minimize dependence on third-party services that could set cookies:
• Map on the /contacts page – OpenStreetMap. Does not set cookies and does not share data with advertisers.
• Links to Telegram, Instagram and Google Maps – these are plain links, not embedded iframes. Cookies are set only if you click through and end up on the partner's site, where their own policies apply.
• Fonts – loaded locally from our server, not from Google Fonts. That means Google does not learn that you visited our site.
How to manage cookies
You can delete cookies, block them for specific sites, or block them altogether through your browser settings:
• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage website data
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking all cookies may affect how the site works – for example, Cloudflare bot protection.
Changes to this policy
If we add new services or change our cookie approach, we will update this page and the Last updated date at the top. For significant changes we will also show a banner on the site.
